Cormac McCarthy, Chief Lending Officer of People’s Credit Union, is pleased to announce the appointment of Estelle Chaves as Vice President of Mortgage Operations. In this newly created role, Chaves will oversee mortgage loan operations including loan setup, processing, underwriting, closing, post-closing, and servicing.
Chaves has over 25 years of residential, consumer and commercial loan operations management experience, with expertise in mortgage underwriting and regulatory compliance. In addition, Chaves has extensive experience training, mentoring, and managing multiple lending teams and departments.

Estelle has a proven collaborative leadership approach that will be a strong cultural fit for our members, employees, and the communities we serve.”
Prior to joining People’s Credit Union, Chaves served as Vice President, Residential Consumer Compliance Officer, for Rockland Trust Company, headquartered in Middleboro, MA, where she was responsible for working collaboratively with the Bank’s business units to assist with the creation of appropriate policies and procedures relative to various banking regulations.
Chaves holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Phoenix and currently serves on the board of directors of the Massachusetts Division of Banks Board of Appeals.
